You can alter it with small amount of steamed sweet potato.

Fruit juices

Basically fruit juices are considered as healthy beverages. But it turns out to be one of the culprits when it comes to spike in the blood sugar level. It is also similar to the intake of sugary drinks and sodas. This is also applied to fruit juice with no sugar.

Basically, fruit juices are loaded huge amount of fructose. Fructose is a kind of sugar that could lead to insulin resistance. Other than that, it could also boost the possibility of heart disease, and obesity. But if you still love to try fruit juice then you can try the lemon water. It only contains one gram of carbohydrate and calorie-free as well.

Processed snack foods

Packaged foods like crackers and pretzels are not good for diabetic. It is not even a good choice for non-diabetic as well. Typically, they are made of refined flour with very few nutrients. Well, they provide carbs that could be digested by the body very quickly and it also raised the blood sugar level.

If you are really hunger between meals then you can take nuts or other vegetables with small amount of carbs in it.

Dried fruit

Of course fruits are great sources of many important vitamins and essential minerals for our body like potassium and vitamin C. But, once they are dried, they will lose a lot of water. Besides, the drying process will absorb the important nutrients so you will most likely eat nothing other than sugar. The sugar concentration is getting higher because of the drying process.

For example, raisins contain so many carbs than the grapes. So, if you are a diabetic person then there is no need to give up the fruits thoroughly. You can still consume fruits that contain lower carbs and low sugar intake like apple or fresh berries. Managing your foods will help you stay away from diabetes type 2.
